Mary Benke will be the featured artist for a special summer show at Art on a Whim Gallery, 100 N. Main St., Breckenridge, CO., July 31-Aug. 1. Benke will display several new works depicting scenes from Colorado and its magnificent mountains. New for the show is a pastel of one of the Mohawk Lakes. This painting,"Mountain Lake," featuring a soft palette of blues, lavenders and greens, shows off the shimmering lake set against a teal background of the area's renowned forests. Also new to the show is a mixed media piece entitled "Continental Falls Revisited," a bold watercolor/pastel painting of a scene familiar to many area hikers. Additional pastel and watercolor landscapes, florals, and snow scenes will be available.
